This breakfast sandwich is a no compromise feast for the hearty appetite. It includes eggs, cheese, sausage, thinly sliced ham and bacon all served up on a flaky biscuit. Have the sandwich for $3.99 or enjoy the combo for just $5.99.
Single All-Natural Burger
The clean food movement has reached Hardee’s! This 1/3-pound burger features a patty made from free-range grass fed beef from cows free of hormones, steroids and antibiotics. Charbroiled over real flames, this burger is both tasty and filling. $4.99.
Original Thickburger
Another burger classic, this one featuring a full ½ pound of 100% Black Angus beef. It comes topped with American cheese, lettuce, red onion, tomato, pickles, ketchup, mayo and mustard. Have it with any of the great sides on the menu, we love the beer battered onion rings, for $8.69.
Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders
The chicken tenders at Hardee’s are outstanding. They start with whole pieces of chicken breast which are then dipped by hand in eggs and buttermilk before being finished in a perfectly seasoned breading.
They are then flash fried to a crisp golden brown and served with any one of the following sauces: buttermilk ranch, spicy buffalo, sweet or bold BBQ, or honey mustard. Have three for $3.99.
Ice Cream Shake
The milkshakes at Hardee’s are made with hand scooped ice cream and real milk. You can have them malted for no extra charge. Save some room for after your meal, or just swing by to pick one up on a hot day. Chocolate, vanilla or strawberry for $3.29.
Hardee’s History
The founder of Hardee’s is Wilbur Hardee, who opened his first restaurant in 1960 in Greenville, North Carolina. The business was very successful and within a year Hardee teamed up with James Gardner and Leonard Rawls to begin expanding the restaurant into a chain. Using the franchise model as well as company owned stores and purchasing competing regional chains, Hardee’s grew rapidly.
By 1970 there were about 200 restaurant locations across the country. Early restaurants focused on burgers and shakes. In the 1990’s the menu was expanded to include fried chicken after the company purchased the Roy Rogers chain.
The company is currently owned and managed by CKE Restaurants and has over 5,800 locations globally as of 2016.
