It starts with crispy lettuce topped with tender grilled chicken, fresh grapes and strawberries, crunchy candied pecans, mandarin oranges, red onions and feta cheese. It is dressed with a house sweet raspberry vinaigrette. $10.99.
Ribeye Steak
This meal starts with an 11 ounce Ribeye hand selected for strong marbling to ensure a tender and juicy steak. Seasoned in the special Peak Seasoning of the house, and grilled to order. There are also plenty of add on choices if you want to pay a little more: lobster tail, mushrooms and onions, shrimp, or ribs. This steak comes with a choice of side and a salad for $19.99.
Caramel Apple Goldrush
Fuji apples are baked in a tender and flaky pie crust pocket and topped with vanilla ice cream and caramel and raspberry sauce. $7.49.
Longhorn Steakhouse’s History
Longhorn Steakhouse was founded by George W. McKerrow in Atlanta, Georgia in 1981 at a time when casual dining was just taking off in America. The restaurant struggled at first but a snowstorm in 1982 packed the restaurant with a crowd and the reputation of the amazing steaks the restaurant served spread quickly after that.
The restaurant chain grew and by 1990 there were several restaurants across the country. In 2007 it was acquired by Darden Restaurants Inc. Although concentrated in the Eastern United States, there are also a few locations throughout the Midwest and Southwest as well as Puerto Rico. As of 2014 there were about 435 locations.
